We’ve made the Anti-Collision system works on Wi-Fi ! It’s a great achievement !! 🎉🎉
We are very proud to announce this news, because it’s a game changer.
The UHF was designed 70 years ago, and only allowed radios to talk one after the other. When the Wi-Fi introduced the new communication standards in the 90s, that allowed radios to talk simultaneously without interference, the radio communication has made a huge evolution !
On our side, we integrated this technology in our system about 10 years ago, to manage data flows between systems, but it’s only now that we’ve made a huge progress in term of Wi-Fi, by making it work not only for the data, but as well for the safety aspect.
This is great from many reasons, one of them is the latency, we’ve been able to drop from 500ms to 10ms by using the Wi-Fi for connection time between system. 0,5 sec won on the response time from the system is a century on the scale of stopping a crane to avoid a collision.
The thing that makes us UNIQUE, is being the only ones having a redundant radio. By being able to use both the UHF and the Wi-Fi bands, we can work on 2 separated radios frequencies, which give us the ability to transfer the data on two completely separated bands and make the system fully redundant.
What’s great is that it’s a plus and not a must, the system can also work with UHF only, or with Wi-Fi only, or it could use both and be redundant.
This is incredible, because it sort completely out the problem of interference, which we had to deal with for over 30 years.
